Hiya everyone,

The decision to get a laptop came when I realized I would need one when I go off to UCLA. Currently, I only had a PC and would not want to drag it to the apartment and back to home every weekend. My parents require that I go home every weekend (if I can). So, getting a laptop would be helpful for me.

I looked around and asked a lot of people about their laptops. I knew I didn’t want a Mac (apple) one because 1) they’re expensive and 2) I really like Windows… Anyways, I finally purchased one about four-five days ago.

At first, I wanted a Gateway one however, its weight: 6.6 lbs is heavy. I didn’t want to drag around 6 lbs everyday. So, I went for something smaller and found a Toshiba laptop. Its weight is around 4.4 lbs. The screen size is 13.3 inches, with 3 GB RAM and 250 GB space. I know it’s not a lot, but I don’t really plan on using other than for college-related things. It also comes with a built-in webcam, microphone, Windows Vista. I bought it from Costco for $849.99 (plus tax).

Well, that’s it for now. Thanks for the awsome comments: Hoshiakari, vero, Cat, and Yukari!

Hiya everyone,

I am forgetful. I forgot about the AnimeExpo and when it came by, it was already too late. For July 4th, I had to go to my cousin’s house. For July 5th and 6th, I had work. I’m sorry, Shu! I really wish I could have gone.

You know how you’re supposed to send in your transcripts to the universities/colleges. For instance, when you applying to a college after high school, you’re required to send your transcripts. So, I had to do that except it was from the community college to UCLA. Boy, it took a long time. Here’s the breakdown:

I thought I could kill one bird with two stones, seeing as how I had to submit a final grades transcript, due July 15, and IGETC certification, due in September. So, I requested those together.

June 10th: I submitted the request for my final grades transcript and IGETC certification. I knew it would not come out quickly because the last day of school was June 13th and it does take a while for the grades to be submitted by the professors and whatnot.

June 20th: Final grades were posted. (I got straight A’s. I was so happy!)

June 24th: I wondered if my transcripts were ready. I called. They were not. They said they would probably be ready next week.

June 30th: Called them again. They were not ready. They said maybe at the end of this week. I reminded them that my deadline was coming up (July 15th). By this time, I am frustrated because I don’t want to miss the deadline. So I ask if I could just get the transcript and get the IGETC later, but they said the IGETC is printed on the transcript.

July 2nd: Called them again. They were again not ready. They say they are swamped with it. They said to call again next week. I reminded them again that my deadline was coming up. They also told me that it was the IGETC certification they were waiting for.

July 7th: I spent the whole morning calling them but I kept getting a busy tone. Finally, I got through. They said it was ready and I could pick up. FINALLY. So, my mom took me (because after that we were going to submit it to UCLA)… I get there. I ask them for my transcript and IGETC. They look for it and ask around. They tell me they don’t find it. The IGETC has to be done by some other office. They tell me to just call again tomorrow. I was even more frustrated. So, I left and as I was leaving, the person from the office came after me and asked again for my name and stuff. Apparently, he just got the envelope (of my transcript and IGETC). I was pretty relieved.

So, I made it before the deadline. It made me think if I was impatient to get the transcript and IGETC, seeing as how it was eight days before the deadline.

So, off to UCLA, my mom and I went. I submitted it. I went to my sister’s apartment to see how it looks (she actually shares it with two other friends). It was pretty small, that I don’t really mind. But, oh my gosh, they are really messy. There was lots of stuff on the floor, like clothes, food, papers, and so on. (I am a messy person too … but seriously, I am not that messy.) It also had a weird odor - maybe that was just from the apartment itself. Oh well, I can’t really complain seeing as how I won’t have anywhere else to go … and I definitely do not want to commute.

Well, that’s it… hopefully, everything else will go smoothly and I won’t have anything else to worry and be frustrated about.

It is pretty simple, with black, gray and somewhat of purple. I like the “torn paper” feel to it. The image stock of the “holes” were by Master Jinn. There are still some CSS things I need fix and edit.

Yesterday at work, I saw two of my high school friends - both whom I have not seen for a very long time. One of them is actually getting married sometime soon. I was super shock to hear that because she is only twenty years old. I don’t plan to get married until early or late 30s, most likely.

I don’t know if this year I will go to the Anime Expo. My sisters and I have talked about it but we have not confirmed whether we would go or not. It is actually close, this year.

Well, that’s it for now. I don’t have much to say. Not much has happened after seven days from when I posted.

Hiya everyone,

As mentioned in the last post, I was thinking about transferring my domain name. All in one day, it happened. I am so happy that I transferred to NameCheap. They were very fast. I never really had anything bad happen at Netrillium, but I found their support to be slow and expensive to renew. And, I must thank Cat who helped with the transfer process by giving me a step-by-step lesson.

Well, school is over. I am now bored and stuck at home. I won’t be taking any summer classes. Hopefully, I will pick up more shifts at work so I can earn more. Finals weren’t too bad. I only had two in-class finals (Chemistry and Chinese). I can’t wait to start at UCLA this fall. I will actually be living with my sister (and two other friends) at an apartment near UCLA. That will be some fun and different - never lived outside of home.

I also just came back from work. I was really, really bored and had a pen with me. So, I made a little sketch:

That’s it for now. I wish everyone good luck on their own finals (if they have any) and have a wonderful summer!

Hiya everyone,

It’s almost the end of the Spring semester (then I will be transferring to UCLA). I only have a couple of weeks left. I have finals for three (out of four) of my classes. Not too bad. One of them is actually a take-home final that can be emailed to the professor. The other two I have to go take it in class. And, actually, for my Speech final, it is just an extra credit final. That is pretty cool. Hopefully, I will end with good grades this semester. *crosses fingers*

I’ve started driving by myself. Usually, there’d be someone with me because I had not built up the confidence to do it alone. So, my parents “pushed” me to drive alone. I have come to the conclusion, that I suck at driving - at least, in my mind I do. The hardest thing I find is probably parking. Sometimes I’d be crooked, other times I would step on the lines. And, yesterday, when I drove out of the parking lot of school, it was raining so hard! It was the first time I drove in the rain. The rain was so hard. It made seeing the lines on the ground hard to see. I really hope I get better at driving.

On some domain issues, I’ve been thinking about either getting a new domain name or transferring it out to somewhere else. Currently, I’m with Netrillium and it’s $9.99 for renewal. Their price has gone up quite a lot. I’ve been looking at the transferring domain, and it seems like a long process. I kind of want to let Unfading-Scar expire, and have a new domain name from somewhere else. I am not sure if that process would be easier or longer. And, if I do the second process (getting a new domain name), it would be quite a hassle to change everything from unfading-scar to the new domain name. So, I’m kind of unsure of what to do. When I come to a final decision, I will email all the hostees about it and whatnot. Also, if anyone has any suggestions, opinions, experience, feel free to tell me. I’d really appreciate it.

Hiya everyone,

Well, spring break is over (it ended a week ago actually). I didn’t do anything productive to be honest. I mean, sure I did some stuff but nothing worth mentioning. But, really, that’s not the good news (from the entry’s title).

What is the good news? One of the good news is, I saw The Forbidden Kingdom! I watched it after work, with my sisters (I paid for them), on April 19th. Ah, I love it. It was great. It had action, humor, and Jackie Chan AND Jet Li. What more could you want? I know I definitely enjoyed it. If you haven’t seen it, I suggest watching it.

The other good news: as you might but probably do not know, I currently go to a community college (I started after I graduated from High School, year 2006). For two years, I’ve been working on transferring to a university. I had applied to: UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, UC Riverside, and UC Los Angeles. The first three were mainly back ups because I really wanted to get into UCLA. Well, I got accepted to the first three (I know, I was shocked too). I have been waiting and waiting for something from UCLA. Then, finally, I got something from them - I got accepted! I was so shocked and happy. So, this fall 2008, I will be attending UCLA.

Now this I do not know whether to categorize as good news, but I have been taught/lectured by my dad on driving. I got my driver’s license last August 2007. But, since then haven’t been driving because I didn’t have car insurance. However, I do now. So my dad is re-teaching me. And boy, I have a lot to learn. I am really bad apparently. I suck at changing lanes, making turns, making slow stops, and pressing on the gas pedal slowly. So, basically, that’s almost everything of driving. However, I do think I am slowly improving.

Well, that’s it for now. My last semester at the community college ends in June, so can’t wait for that.

Thanks for the awesome comments: K-chan, Cat, Hoshiakari (Yes!

Hiya everyone,

It sure has been a while. Sorry for not being as active as before. I’ve been busy and lazy. But, finally, it is my spring break! Luckily, for me, my spring break actually started today. My professor canceled class today for her own vacation. And, I don’t have any classes on Friday. So, that means 10 days of no school. But, unfortunately, I do have homework to do.

For my chemistry class, we have a separate lab. For one of our labs, we went on a long hike for about 2-3 hours on a rocky canyon. I was so scared because we had to go down on a huge downward slope. I fell on my butt. Luckily, I wasn’t the only one. Anyways, we went on the hike to collect materials to make color dyes. I thought that was pretty cool. Another lab we did was changing a penny to “gold.” That was fun.

One day, my chemistry professor was lecturing about recycling and how we can “refuse, reduce, recycle, reuse, and recover.” She randomly asked students “How many pairs of shoes do you own?” (Any type of shoes whether it’s for sports, work, and so on). The students answered “10″, “20″, some said “40 or more.” I was totally shocked because I only own two pairs: one for everyday and the other for work. I never really thought anyone would own so many pairs of shoes.

Enough about school, I’ve been pretty busy because of Super Smash Brothers Brawl! We got the game when it came out. I was so excited. But, I was pretty sad that Roy (from the Melee) wasn’t going to be in Brawl. However, I do love Pit. He’s one of my favorite. I also like Zero Suit Samus. It took me and my sisters forever to figure out how to play Zero Suit Samus on the Brawl (multi-player) without using the Final Smash.

Yay, time for some fangirling: w-inds.’ new PV came out (some days ago), Ame ato. I find the PV okay, not the best mainly because of the lack of Ryohei and Ryuichi. But, I love the song. I can’t wait for their single release.

I am really excited to see The Forbidden Kingdom, starring Jackie Chan and Jet Li. I really want to watch it. I am a big fan of Jackie Chan as well as Jet Li. I always wanted a movie of them together. It comes out next Friday. Ah, I really hope I can watch it.

Lastly, for some shameless advertising: If you’re a fan of Japanese Dramas, please join my fanlisting for it at Addiction!

Hiya everyone,

I started a new semester at college. So far, all the classes seemed OK. Here’s what I am currently taking:

Speech - Public Speaking. Blah, I hate speaking in front of everyone. I usually do it too fast and quiet. So, hopefully, I can overcome those kinds of fear and speak “properly” in front of people.

Political Science - Comparative Government. I kind of have high hopes for this class because it seems really fun and interesting.

Chemistry - the subject I am taking is: Chemistry and the Environment. I kind of took a course like this back in High School. It was OK. It comes with a lab which I usually don’t like.. but, luckily, two of my High School friends are in this class. I was so shocked when I saw them in this class as well - this could be a fun course.

Chinese - Mandarin. Personally, I rather learn Cantonese. Well, I’m only taking this class for fun with my sisters - who dragged me to do this especially since it’s a night class (I don’t really like night classes).

Well, in Chemistry, which is right before lunch.. we’ve talked about “interesting” things such as .. commercial milk and its contents, fast foods and their meat, commercial dog and cat food. All of which are pretty disgusting if anyone has done research in those topics. I would hate to make anyone lose their appetites, but let me explain briefly on some of the topics covered.

Commercial Milk - my professor mentioned the cows are injected with BGH which are “estrogen mimics” which are not good for us. So, organic milk is better.

Fast foods and their meat - she specifically went over Subway and how lots of people think Subway sandwiches are healthier than burgers. However, in Subway’s deli meat, it contains Sodium Nitrate, and mixing it with stomach acid can cause stomach cancer.

Commercial dog and cat food - from what the professor said, those foods are made from dead dogs and cats…

Now, I have to say that I am not 100% sure everything I said positively true. Perhaps it is not? Perhaps it is? All I know is, I might be staying away from fast food for a while. If I learn about anything else in Chemistry or any other classes, I’ll probably - if I don’t forget - post it up. It is quite interesting what the United States’ FDA does compared to other nations… very interesting. Also, I believe that most of the topics I talked about only occur in the United States.

Well, the happier side of my schedule of this semester is that I have no classes on Friday! Yay! Unfortunately I do have work, but I only seem to work once a week, twice at most. And, unfortunately, it is on Friday night that I have to work. Boo…

That’s it for now.

Hiya everyone,

It seems like my blogging has only become monthly. Haha, I never really planned that or anything. It just seems to me that I’ve been busy.

So, I’ll recap on what’s been happening. I believe this all happened during my winter break. Sometime in January, I went ice skating with my sisters and my sister’s friends. It was my first time. It was so hard. I kept hanging onto the wall as well as my sister (who was able to balance herself and skate pretty well). I kept thinking I would fall - but luckily, I never did. It was fun time though.

Sometime again in January, I went out with friends (finally, we’ve all been busy with our lives and school that we barely hang out and talk to each other). We were supposedly going to watch Sweetney Todd but two of our friends already seen it and we felt bad to make them spend another $10 to watch it again. So, we were debating between National Treasure and Juno. Unfortunately, the theater we went to was not showing Juno and we missed National Treasure. So, we had to watch One Missed Call. Ack, I don’t like scary movies and we even sat in the front. So, I stuck with it and watched it to the end. Aftewards, we went to Burger King and then went home.

Well, sadly, winter break ended. I took a winter session in which the classes are only 6 weeks. I am currently taking Elementary Statistics and Political Science. Overall, it’s alright but lots of work, seeing as how it’s only six weeks so it’s fast paced and whatnot. I think I’m doing okay in both classes - not the best, but not really the worst. Haha. And, for work, I’ve been only working once a week…for like 4 hours.. not much to say about that. I don’t really mind since it’s not something I’d want to stay in or pursue further. I find my education more important .. and my free time.

I’ve recently been into Big Bang, Korean group (mainly because of my sister). I am in love with their song, Always (though I do prefer the English version to be honest). I also love with Super Junior’s KyuHyun (as well as Super Junior). And, it’s his birthday today! Happy Birthday! Haha XD (And, to those who love to pair up Super Junior members — I love KyuMin) :P
I’ve been going over to the Korean music over Japanese music, but then I found out Anna Tsuchiya’s new single, cocoon, was released. I heard a preview and am totally loving it. It’s really a good song. I love it, though I hear mixed reviews about it.

And, I’m such a moron. When I upgraded my WordPress, I had to deactivate all my WP-plugins. And, when I finished, I never activated them. So, I had about 300 something spam in my comments. X_X It took me a while to clean that up. The archives weren’t working either. But now everything should be fine.

Oh yes, I’d like to introduce some new blog buddies (even though they’ve been linked for a long time xDD)! Please welcome, Meagan, Noelle, and Philene! Hehe.

And, lastly, I’d like to advertise my “recent” fanlisting to Keita Tachibana! Please join if you’re a fan!

It’s another year. I don’t really have any resolutions. For New Year’s Eve, I went to my aunt’s house for the countdown. About an hour before midnight, we were watching home videos back in 1986 (before I was born). It was so hilarious watching what my cousins did when they were younger.

For Christmas, I spent the day with my family and relatives. We exchanged gifts, as well as celebrated my youngest cousin’s birthday (her birthday is on Christmas). I got:

A ‘Paul Frank’ t-shirt and small purse — not a big fan of Paul Frank, but it’s really nice shirt

A Pooh Bear - Make It Yourself - Stocking — I have to sew it up, not much of a sewer either, (only 3% complete)

Socks — those socks that fit for your toes.

FoxTrot Comic: “Assorted FoxTrot” — love it.

I think that’s it. If I forgot something, I’ll mention it later.

Well, as you can see, there’s a new layout. It features the Japanese drama, Liar Game. I actually started watching the drama on December 31st then finished yesterday. It was so addicting. Plus, I found Akiyama (Matsuda Shota) extremely attractive (since Hana Yori Dango live action), so that helped me finish the drama. I really love the soundtrack too. The “opening” song is so awesome. The drama, overall, was so intense and thrilling. At first, I was reluctant to watch it because my sister said it was scary — and I am not a fan of horror, but I’m glad I gave it chance. Those of you who haven’t watched it should.

Back to the layout, it’s very simple. It’s made in complete div layers and CSS. Usually I use tables, but I’m trying new things. I think it’s kind of messed up in Internet Explorer — I will be working on fixing that. Any help?

Unfortunately, this is the last week of my winter break. I will be starting school again on the 7th of January.
